doing any of the work.
It takes twenty years to get a disease, yet most often it starts with our habits

Preservatives - Salt- Sodium Benzoate *Your not going to believe this!*
Salt - Also known as Sodium Chloride is used as a flavoring agent, and
a preservative used also in many forms..
Found in most canned, bottled, packaged, processed foods, cured meats
and one of the single most harmful chemical substances in our food supply
today, used in several ways.
Remember - Pain or disease can not exist in a body that is pH balanced.

Blood pressure, hypertension, also the increased risk of heart attacks and strokes
are a cause for concern in individuals consuming a diet high in sodium. Around
3:00 Am blood pressure tends to bottom out, and tends to rise rapidly between
6:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Most heart attacks, strokes heart failure occur during
these hours.
Sodium Benzoate and Benzoic Acid also known forms of sodium are found in most
beverages, such as fruit juices and carbonated drinks has been used for last century
to prevent the growth of microorganisms in acidic foods. These substances occur in
a natural form in many plants and animals in beverages containing sodium benzoate
and ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) which react together creating benzene. This is also a
problem because this chemical is known to cause leukemia and other forms of cancer.
In the 1990's the FDA also asked companies to refrain from the use of benzoate
in products with ascorbic acid but they continued to do so. In 2006, there was a
lawsuit filed by private attorneys which forced many beverage producers to change
their formulations.
The levels of salt contained in these foods vary widely depending on the brand
and the product salt is used in. Most companies use salt as a preservative, to add
a salty flavor, to mask bitter flavors or attain a certain texture or other property to
the food. These companies say that using less would cause safety issues and sacrafice
the flavor.
The FDA (FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION) recognizes that diets
with high amounts of sodium are a major cause of cardiovascular disease. On top
of that, in 1979 their own advisory committee decided that salt should not be
"generally recognized as safe" (GRAS).
The Center for Science in the Public Interest petitioned the Food and Drug
Administration to revoke the status of GRAS on salt and to obtain other ways
in lowering levels of sodium in our food supply.
The average person consumes mre thatn 4,000 mg of sodium on a daily basis through
foods they consume. Per day, a single persons consumption of salt should not exceed
more than 500mg on average.
Sodium in salt plays a vital role in the bodies chemistry, more so in the regulation of
water balance.
So the #1 Question is: What can you do to decrease your risk of sodium
and the preservatives in the form of sodium that are affecting you?
The largest amount of sodium is consumed through beverages including energy
drinks, fruit drinks and soda.
#1. Reduce your intake of these and drink more water. Do Some research on what is healthy.
Suggestion: A highly beneficial beverage without processing additives, chemicals,
or preservatives
#2. Pay attention to the labels and the amounts of sodium according to the number of servings and do the math. Figure out what you are taking in and be more cautious.
